Moody Air Force Airport (VAD) is a United States Air Force airport located in Moody AFB, Georgia. The airport's facilities include a single runway, designated as 18/36, which is 8,000 feet long and 150 feet wide. Moody AFB is home to the 23rd Wing, a combat-ready wing that provides close air support, forward air control, and combat search and rescue operations. The airport's operations are primarily focused on supporting the wing's A-10C Thunderbolt II and HH-60G Pave Hawk aircraft, as well as other visiting military aircraft. The airport also has a range of support facilities, including hangars, maintenance shops, and fuel storage facilities. Additionally, Moody AFB has a control tower and air traffic control services, which manage the flow of aircraft in and out of the airport.
